Biodiv-Wind at the 7th Conference on Wind Energy and Impacts on Wildlife (CWW)

It was a great pleasure for Biodiv-Wind to participate in the 7th edition of the Conference on Wind Energy and Impacts on Wildlife (CWW). This annual event brings together experts dedicated to studying the relationship between wind energy and wildlife conservation, focusing on minimizing impacts on birds and bats.

At the conference, our founder and president, Henri-Pierre Roche, had the honor of presenting our latest research through the “Red Kite Factsheet.” This presentation highlighted the collision risks faced by the Red Kite in relation to the rotation speed of wind turbines. The interest and positive feedback from attendees were deeply appreciated, and we are grateful for the engagement and thoughtful discussions that followed.

New Innovations for Bird and Bat Conservation

In addition to discussing our ongoing projects, we were thrilled to introduce some of our new bird detection technologies at the event. As many of you may already know, the Biodiv-Wind family is growing! Our Bird Sentinel and SafeWind systems, designed to minimize bird collisions with wind turbines, are now complemented by innovative solutions for bat conservation and advanced monitoring.

We proudly unveiled the AudioBat, a device specifically engineered for bat detection and protection. This technology ensures that wind farms are also safe for bats, addressing growing concerns about their conservation. Furthermore, we showcased the new XBird Radar, which enhances our ability to study and protect flying wildlife. This system offers a broader range of bird detection and bird monitoring, allowing us to provide even more accurate data to improve collision prevention.

Looking Forward

For those who couldn’t attend the CWW, we invite you to visit us at CNE 2023, where we will be present at Stand 08 from October 4th to 5th in Paris. This event will be another great opportunity to discover our new solutions and learn more about our advancements in bird monitoring systems and bat detection technologies. We are excited to meet more of you in person and continue discussing how we can work together to promote sustainable wind energy while safeguarding wildlife.

Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you again for your continued support in helping us protect both birds and bats through innovative bird monitoring equipment and solutions.
