Great news! We are about to install a Bird Sentinel in the beautiful department of Orne!

Our automated and autonomous system for observing birdlife will allow us to study the populations of black storks and common cranes closely, near a future wind farm, thus assessing their potential impact.

Black storks have been reintroduced to France for just over a decade. Even though the reasons for their return were mysterious to scientists at the time, it turns out that their presence is an indicator of the quality of natural environments.

Orne, with its vast forests, green meadows, and winding rivers, is an ideal region for black storks, which appreciate tranquility and avoid human presence.

A big thank you to our partners who enable us to conduct this study and contribute to biodiversity preservation.
